Who We Are
Incorporated in 1986, Kitchener Housing Inc. was originally sponsored by the City of Kitchener with the objectives to purchase, construct, hold, renovate, manage, provide and maintain housing for low and moderate income individuals and families in the City of Kitchener. Twenty-five years later, Kitchener Housing Inc. along with Kitchener Non-Profit Property Management Inc., has grown to own and operate more than 750 units of apartments, townhouses and single family homes in Kitchener.
The governance and affairs of Kitchener Housing Inc. are managed by a Board of Directors composed of three Elected Officials and eight Community Directors. Community Directors are volunteers that either reside or work within the City of Kitchener. Community Directors are eligible to hold office for a term of three-years and are eligible to reapply for a second three-year term.
